Lot: 160 Bottle Mold Glass Hat Whimsey, possibly Lancaster Glass Works, Lancaster, New York, 1849-1860. Cylindrical, medium blue green, sheared and inward rolled rim - pontil scar, ht. 1 1/2 inches, rim dia. 4 3/4 inches; (shallow 1/4 inch open bubble near edge of downturned rim). Similar in form and construction to MW plate 78, #2 and #4 This whimsey hat was blown using a utility bottle mold. Nicely whittled glass. Beautiful color. Fine condition.
