Lot: 89 Early Fluid Lamp, probably New England Glass Company, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1820-1830. Square pressed stepped monument base with lion heads and fruit baskets, freeblown globular font, milk glass, overall ht. with burner 8 inches; (1/2 inch chip off one base corner and areas of manufacturer's roughness). Similar to McK plate 196, #7 A rare and early fluid lamp. Retains original brass collar with double tube whale oil burner. Estimate: $400 - $800 Minimum bid: $200 Price Realized: $200 |
