Lot: 273 Pattern Molded Compote, Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1820-1840. Eight rib bowl on heavy baluster stem with flat shouldered base, colorless, tooled rim - polished pontil scar, ht. 7 1/4 inches, greatest dia. 8 5/8 inches; (1/4 inch chip on rim of bowl). Similar in form and construction to PG plate 170 A massive, impressive, and rare piece of pillar mold glassware. Generally fine condition.
